Papershot (Quantum Byte Technologies, Kenya) uses a small number of cookies and similar storage technologies onhttps://papershot.qbyte.tech. None of them are for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can change your choices at any time from the Cookie choices link in the site footer.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Similar technologies include browser localStorage and sessionStorage, web beacons, and pixel tags. This policy uses "cookies" to cover all of them.
Your choices
On your first visit we show a cookie banner with three categories:
- Strictly necessary: always on. Required for authentication and security. You cannot disable these.
- Analytics: off by default. Helps us understand which features get used and where the product breaks.
- Marketing: off by default. Used for measuring campaign performance. We do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising.
Your choices are remembered in the ps.consents cookie and synced to your account if you are signed in. You can update them at any time via the Cookie choices link in the footer.
Strictly necessary
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ps.session | Keeps you signed in across pages. Set when you sign in. Required for the app to work. | 30 days |
ps.csrf | Prevents cross-site request forgery on web actions. | Session |
ps.consents | Remembers the cookie choices you made. | 12 months |
Analytics (only with consent)
Set only if you accept analytics. Used to understand which features get used and where the product breaks.
| Name | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ps.analytics | papershot (first-party) | 12 months |
Marketing (only with consent)
Set only if you accept marketing. Used to measure the performance of campaigns that brought you to Papershot. We do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising and do not share marketing identifiers with third-party ad networks.
| Name | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ps.campaign | papershot (first-party) | 30 days |
Local storage
We use localStorage to remember your theme preference (light or dark) under the key papershot.theme, and to cache your cookie choices for offline use under the key papershot.consents. Neither key is used for tracking.
Mobile apps
The mobile apps do not use cookies. They use the platform secure store (Keychain on iOS, EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android) to keep your sign-in token, and the in-app Privacy & Data settings to manage analytics and marketing consent.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: a GPC signal from your browser is treated as a request to opt out of any analytics and marketing categories that are not already disabled. Many browsers' legacy "Do Not Track" signal does not have an agreed standard meaning, so we do not act on it as a separate signal.
Changing your choices
Use the Cookie choices link in the site footer or your browser settings. Clearing cookies will sign you out and reset your preferences.
